From Fox News: An 8-year-old boy received the surprise of his young life, after former President Trump greeted him in person during his rally Wednesday in New York.

Liam, who has a rare brain disorder, was recently given a letter from Trump just before his eighth birthday and his heartfelt reaction to the surprise went viral.

Doctors warned the family Liam might never walk, talk or eat on his own, according to his mother, Siobhan.

“My buddy here plays ice hockey, he does roller hockey, he does very good in school, plays sports…we’re so proud of him,” she told Fox News Digital in an interview moments before Trump’s rally at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale near the family’s Long Island home.

Last week, a video was shared as Liam received a birthday letter from Trump. Kevin Smith, host of The Loud Majority podcast, wrote, “Meet Liam. A New York boy with a rare brain disorder and growth hormone deficiency. Who got a very special 8th birthday letter from a very special person. This is the side of Trump the media WILL NEVER show you.”

“This was sent to me by Liam’s family… Donald Trump didn’t ask for Credit for this. He just did it. Because he’s a good person. No matter what the media tries to say,” Smith added.

In the video, the little boy is so overwhelmed with joy over Trump’s letter that he breaks into tears, and his mother reads the letter aloud. The now-viral video has over 3 million views and 4,000 comments.

Wednesday evening, Liam and his family were invited to Trump’s rally at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale as VIP guests, where Trump met them backstage and presented the boy with a present.

“Where’s our beautiful Liam?” Trump asks as he walks into the room carrying the gift.

“I’m supposed to be on that stage, but that doesn’t matter because I got you the best present. This is the best present you’ll ever have,” Trump told the boy as he presented the gift, then posed for a photo.

It’s unknown what the box contained, but Trump told Liam, “in there is real good stuff.”

As he walked away, he told the little boy, “Take care of yourself, okay? I wish I looked like that… or if I looked like that, I’d be president.”
