From the Daily CallerVice President Kamala Harris is bringing in Deborah Mattinson, a top advisor to the U.K.’s Labour Party, to help advise her campaign in its final weeks, according to Politico.

Mattinson, a top adviser to U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is set to travel to Washington, D.C. next week for meetings with Harris-Walz campaign strategists, according to Politico. Mattinson will brief the strategists on how Starmer and the Labour Party, a left-wing party affiliated with the Party of European Socialists, secured the prime minister seat in July, the outlet reported.

Mattinson wants to put the “‘hope and change stuff’ to one side” and keep Harris focused on appealing to undecided swing state voters, a former colleague who worked alongside Mattinson on Labour’s campaign told Politico.

Mattinson is not the only Starmer aide to meet with Harris’s team, Politico reported. Some of Starmer’s closest aides, including his head of political strategy Morgan McSweeney and communications director Matthew Doyle, made a trip to the Democratic National Convention where they met with Harris’s team, according to the outlet.

Mattinson’s advice to the vice-president’s team was developed with the D.C.-based Progressive Policy Institute think tank, run by Starmer’s former director of policy Claire Ainsley, Politico wrote.

Below are more key excerpts from the Politico report:

Mattinson is a fixture of the U.K. polling scene, known for her work with focus groups under former Labour prime ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.

The collaboration is just one strand in a growing transatlantic network of center-left think tanks and political operatives shaping policy and political messaging in Washington and London.

Matthew McGregor, the former Labour digital director who also worked as a campaign strategist for former U.S. President Barack Obama, told POLITICO last month that collaboration between Labour and the Democrats had traditionally been “one-way traffic” — but that this is now changing.

In summary, Harris is bringing in a top adviser to U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer.  Starmer is the same UK leader who has recently cracked down on British citizens who are protesting against a wave of migrant crime.

As the British people are voicing their concerns about the flood of Muslim migrants taking over their country, Starmer is branding the protesters as “right wing” and throwing them in jail.

The Daily Caller notes that while Harris is bringing in European socialists for advice on how to beat former President Donald Trump, she has yet to post anything about her policy platform on her campaign website.

Trump advisor Jason Miller mocked Harris for bringing in foreign advisors.

“Under Border Czar Kamala Harris, foreign-born workers continue to take American jobs🚨 I just didn’t expect the next victims to be her own campaign staff! 🤣🤣🤣,” Miller wrote.

After the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last month, Mattinson shared a post by James Kanagasooriam, one of the UK officials who attended the event.

In a series of social media posts, Kanagasooriam posted his observations on what it would take for Harris to defeat Trump in the November election.
