Details are trickling in after a school shooting occurred at the Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia Wednesday morning.

According to the latest update, at least four people were killed and 9 others are hospitalized.  CNN, along with multiple other outlets, reported that there were over 30 people injured, but it is still unclear how many of those were gunshot wounds.

A “student-age” suspect is in custody, although it is still unclear whether the shooter is a student at the same school. The identity of the shooter has not yet been released.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced just after 2:00 pm ET, “Four dead. An additional nine taken to various hospitals with injuries. Suspect in custody and alive. Reports that the suspect has been ‘neutralized’ are inaccurate.”

Democrats are already revved up again, calling for gun control.  Joe Biden released a statement, demanding a ban on assault weapons and calling for an end to immunity for gun manufacturers:

Jill and I are mourning the deaths of those whose lives were cut short due to more senseless gun violence and thinking of all of the survivors whose lives are forever changed. What should have been a joyous back-to-school season in Winder, Georgia, has now turned into another horrific reminder of how gun violence continues to tear our communities apart. Students across the country are learning how to duck and cover instead of how to read and write. We cannot continue to accept this as normal.

We are closely coordinating with officials at the federal, state and local level, and are grateful for the first responders who brought the suspect into custody and prevented further loss of life.

Ending this gun violence epidemic is personal to me. It’s why I signed into law the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act – the most meaningful gun safety bill in decades – and have announced dozens of gun safety executive actions. I also established the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, overseen by Vice President Harris. We’ve made significant progress, but this crisis requires even more.

After decades of inaction, Republicans in Congress must finally say ‘enough is enough’ and work with Democrats to pass common-sense gun safety legislation. We must ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines once again, require safe storage of firearms, enact universal background checks, and end immunity for gun manufacturers. These measures will not bring those who were tragically killed today back, but it will help prevent more tragic gun violence from ripping more families apart.

Former Parkland, Florida student and gun control advocate David Hogg wrote, “Back to school season shouldn’t be the start of school shooting season. Literally no other developed country has anywhere near the level of gun violence we have in this country and it’s fucking unacceptable we act like there’s nothing we can do.”

“Schools shouldn’t become graveyards. I’m so angry, it feels so preventable yet some politicians are actively fighting against those prevention measures. How many schools need to become graveyards until it sinks in that this needs to end?” X user Leslie Templeton wrote.

Conservatives are pushing back, with many pointing out Democrats are completely ignoring the illegal alien crime due to the Biden-Harris open borders.

“Hey libtards please stop with your fake outrage for Apalachee High School. You ignore migrant crime and gang violence that happens everyday in cities with your gun laws. It’s not the guns it’s because this country has mentally unstable people!” wrote Jay from NYC.

Another person declared, “Every time there’s a #SchoolShooting like at Apalachee High School today, Democrats immediately point to the deaths and yell #GunReformNow, yet over 100,000 ppl are killed every year due to fentanyl coming over Kamala’s open border yet why do Dems never say, CLOSE THE BORDER NOW?”

“Kamala is going to milk this in the debate. I called it,” another person warned.
