1) Former NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo to testify before House COVID panel

From New York Post: Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is set to testify next week before a House committee investigating his administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic — including an infamous mandate that forced infected patients into nursing homes.

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic announced Tuesday that it was preparing to question the ex-New York governor on Sept. 10 about the “unscientific guidance” that led to the deaths of thousands of senior citizens.

“Andrew Cuomo owes answers to the 15,000 families who lost loved ones in New York’s nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio).

The COVID subcommittee has already conducted a closed-door transcribed interview with Cuomo in June, during which the governor came across as “shockingly callous,” Wenstrup added.

2) Philadelphia Eagles Respond To Fake Posters Claiming Team Endorses Kamala

From Daily Wire: The Philadelphia Eagles responded to fake posters that had surfaced in the city alleging that the NFL team had endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

On Monday on X from the team’s official social media account, the Eagles’ team wrote that, “We are aware counterfeit political ads are being circulated and are working with our advertising partner to have them removed.”

The post has since gone viral with nearly 5 million views at the time of this publication. The response online came after images of several posters in Philly surfaced showing Harris wearing an Eagle’s helmet, black jersey, and holding a football.

The fake poster read, “Kamala. The official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles,” CBS News reported.

3) Two US Marines ambushed, assaulted by mob of Turkish nationalists

From Fox News: A mob of Turkish nationalists attacked U.S. Marines in western Turkey on Monday, resulting in the arrests of 15 people.

The incident took place in Izmir, which is located on Turkey’s Aegean coast. In a statement, the Izmir governor’s office said the assailants belonged to the Youth Union of Turkey, which is connected to the nationalist Vatan Party.

The governor said that the victims, who were assigned to the USS Wasp, were “physically attacked.” The service members were identified as “soldiers” by authorities, but are U.S. Marines. Video posted to social media showed service members in civilian clothing yelling for help as they were restrained by a group of anti-American men.

4) Country music star praises Trump’s ‘blue-collar’ mindset

From Trump War Room via XCountry Music Star John Rich: “I describe Donald Trump… as a blue collar billionaire. He is a billionaire — and he has a lot of nice stuff — but his brain, and his heart, and soul is like any blue collar guy you’ve ever met. He is all about people, he is all about hard work.”

5) Volkswagen May Close German Plants as Cheap Chinese Cars Flood Europe

From Breitbart: Germany-based Volkswagen (VW) is considering closing plants in its home country as automakers in the European Union (EU) grapple with a flood of cheap China-made cars that are increasingly making up a share of auto sales in the continent.

“The European automotive industry is in a very demanding and serious situation,” Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume said on Monday, suggesting VW may close some of its plants in Germany and drop some job protections for auto workers to cut costs.

A VW plant closure in Germany would be the first time the automaker closed a plant in its home country and the first time it closed a plant worldwide since closing its Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, plant in 1988.
