From The Hill: Michigan and Wisconsin, two key battleground states, declined to remove former Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name from their general election ballots this November despite his requests and withdrawal from the race.

Kennedy announced last Friday that he was suspending his presidential campaign and would endorse former President Trump.

He said he would seek to remove his name from the ballots in states that could theoretically determine the outcome of the election but would keep his name on ballots that are either solidly Democrat or solidly Republican.

The critical purple states, however, rejected that effort Tuesday.

“Minor party candidates cannot withdraw, so his name will remain on the ballot in the November election,” declared Cheri Hardmon, senior press secretary for Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson in a statement to Axios.

“These people are corrupt. This is open election interference,” declared Donald Trump Jr.

Prominent X user “Johnny MAGA” shared a video of Benson and wrote, “This is Michigan’s Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. She’s refusing to remove RFK Jr. from the ballot after he suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump. She’s also the woman that sought to remove Cornel West — who hurts Kamala — from the ballot. She is a complete partisan hack.”
