Nicole Shanahan, the running mate of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was running for president as an Independent, reacted in a social media post Tuesday to the news that Special Counsel Jack Smith has indicted former President Donald Trump yet again.
Smith announced the new indictment over the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case. The charges have reportedly been revised in order to try to get around a Supreme Court ruling that said Trump had immunity for official acts as a president.
On Friday, Kennedy announced he was suspending his own presidential campaign and endorsing Trump. Trump has now given Kennedy a spot on his transition team.
Shanahan had voiced her support for Kennedy’s decision. Then comes the new indictment against Trump.
Shanahan wrote:
I’ll admit I used to kind of roll my eyes when people claimed that President Trump was being “persecuted.” I was looking at it through the distorted filter of the media.
Well, I just completed my first cross-examination in our second New York Ballot Access case, where the DNC-aligned PAC attorneys questioned me like a criminal.
OK, I get it now. Our justice system is clearly being co-opted and abused by nefarious people with malevolent political agendas.
