A “possible cyberattack” caused significant disruptions at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) due to an internet and web systems outage on Saturday, initiated by the Port of Seattle.
The outage, which began Saturday morning, delayed 247 flights and canceled six others by 8 p.m. ET, as reported by FlightAware. The Port of Seattle isolated critical systems in response and is actively restoring services, though no timeline for full recovery has been provided.
Travelers are advised to use airline apps for mobile boarding passes, check flight statuses, and allow extra time at the airport. The airport is collaborating with authorities and partners to mitigate the impact on passengers.
