From Breitbart: Forty-six seconds. That was the sum total of time a female Italian boxer lasted in the ring at the Paris Olympics before she retired from a bout against an Algerian fighter caught in an eligibility furore.

Twenty-five-year-old Imane Khelif was cleared to compete at the 2024 Olympics, even after being disqualified from the International Boxing Association (IBA) 2023 World Boxing Championships for failing gender-eligibility tests, according to Fox News. The International Olympic Committee, which uses different criteria to determine eligibility, ruled Khelif eligible to compete.

“Everyone competing in the women’s category is complying with the competition eligibility rules,” IOC spokesperson Mark Adams said. “They are women in their passports and it’s stated that this is the case, that they are female.”

The contest Thursday between the mismatched pugilists shone fresh light on the controversy about athletes with abnormally high testosterone levels or other male characteristics being allowed to enter women’s sporting categories.

In video footage of the event, now going viral on social media, Angela Carini, the female fighter dressed in blue, is seen in the ring with the biological male fighter, dressed in red.

Carini, also 25, of Italy, was reportedly warned by many Italian citizens not to fight Khelif, since he is a man.

Close-up footage shows Khelif punching Carini squarely in the face.  Her coach said later, “I don’t know if her nose is broken. I have to speak with the girl. But many people in Italy tried to call and tell her: “Don’t go please: it’s a man, it’s dangerous for you.””

Carini was seen falling to her knees and breaking into tears after the male fighter hit her so hard she had to bow out of the fight.

Speaking to the media later, Carini said, “I’m used to suffering. I’ve never taken a punch like that, it’s impossible to continue. I’m nobody to say it’s illegal. I got into the ring to fight. But I didn’t feel like it anymore after the first minute. I started to feel a strong pain in my nose. I didn’t give up, but a punch hurt too much and so I said enough. I’m leaving with my head held high.”

Former President Donald Trump reacted to the incident, vowing that if he wins back the White House, “I WILL KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN’S SPORTS!”

Former HUD director Dr. Ben Carson announced, “The Harris-Biden rewrite of Title IX allows biological men to play women’s sports at federally funded schools. If not stopped, this image of heartbreak WILL be coming to a town near you. Is this Kamala’s idea of women’s equality? It’s “weird.” It’s dangerous. It can’t stand.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Col.) announced, “Angela Carini, the Olympic female boxer from Italy that was defeated in 45 seconds by a biological man, deserves better. I’ve created a GiveSendGo with the goal of raising what Angela would have made from a gold medal! Please consider chipping in.”

Former college swimmer Riley Gaines, who was forced to compete against a biological male, also voiced her outrage, writing, “After 46 seconds and a few hits to the face by a male, Carini forfeited the fight. Call me crazy, but It’s almost as if women don’t want to be punched in the face by a male as the world watches and applauds. This is glorified male violence against women.”

Retired Navy Captain Hug Cao wrote, “Let’s just call it for what it is, okay? People like
@KamalaHarris would rather see a real woman get punched in the face than hurt this dude’s feelings by telling him he’s not a woman.”

Gaines agreed, writing, “A male getting his feelings hurt matters more to @iocmedia & @TheDemocrats than a woman getting physically hurt.”

Author J.K. Rowling wrote, “Watch this (whole thread), then explain why you’re OK with a man beating a woman in public for your entertainment. This isn’t sport. From the bullying cheat in red all the way up to the organisers who allowed this to happen, this is men revelling in their power over women.”

Columnist Meghan McCain demanded, “How soon until a biological woman is beat to death in a situation like this? This is lunacy. Save women’s sports.”

Podcast host Megyn Kelly called out the Daily Mail over the way they worded their report on the incident.

“I love you ⁦@DailyMail⁩ but I am BEGGING YOU & other outlets to stop w/the pronoun game. You are reporting on a male boxer who fought vs a woman using “she/her” for the man! It’s wrong, confusing & is meant to dull our senses to this gender insanity,” Kelly wrote.

Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Olympic champion Bruce Jenner, blasted the entire incident as well, unleashing a number of posts on social media. Jenner wrote:

“I’ve been saying this for years; Men don’t belong in women’s sports, period.
Watching what the IOC allowed to happen (the women beat the hell out of by men) in boxing is SHAMEFUL! Shame on the IOC for letting men compete in women’s boxing events!

“Where is the outrage from the pro-woman @VP Harris?? I’ve been fighting this and shouting it from the rooftops for 4 years now – well before we all watched the famous swimmer example. This is exactly why. Harris / Biden erased women from title IX and the IOC allowed this. SHAME!”
