From Outkick.com: At Mission BBQ, a growing national chain restaurant, standing for the playing of the national anthem at noon is a way of life.
Earlier this month, country legend Trace Adkins visited one of the stores to sing the anthem with veterans and first responders. White veterans, black veterans, young and old and women stood and sang as Adkins’ deep voice led the room.
It was a moving moment.
So when some TikTok’er rolls in and takes a shot at the anthem tradition, it’s pretty much fighting words. “I was in this restaurant minding my business and all the white people stood up and did this s–t,” the loser wrote on her TikTok video.
Tiktoker is triggered because people sang the National Anthem.

Then NFL legend Joe Thomas spoke up. The report notes that Thomas is a Cleveland Browns and Pro Football Hall of Famer, who also happens to be a Mission BBQ investor.
“I’m sorry you were offended by your country’s national anthem…hopefully you enjoyed the brisket at least!!” Thomas retorted.

In an even more powerful rebuttal, another social media user fired back against the TikTok user.
The man said he is an immigrant in America, and he doesn’t understand why any American would hate their own country and their own national anthem.
“What do you think happens to you if America falls?” he demanded.
“This is why you see immigrants like myself who appreciate this country so much, because we know what it’s like to live in a war zone, refugee camps, prison camps, be forced from our home at gunpoint, to have no home, to have no country… and here you are triggered by your own national anthem!” he said.
“What is wrong with you, you do not deserve to be there… there are billions of people all around the world who would give their right arm to be in your place,” he declared.
He also said since 2011, this particular restaurant has donated over $25 million to first responders and veterans.

Mission BBQ employs veterans and gives back to veterans. That’s the ‘mission.’
Every day at noon, they play the National Anthem and people stand out of respect, I even sing along when I’m there.
I eat lunch there most days, the salmon is the best I have ever had, anywhere.

Mission BBQ, they do that every day at noon, and I stand with my hand over my heart every time. 🇺🇸

The “white people” who stood up for that anthem historically fought to support her right to sit through that anthem.

Don’t go to Mission BBQ then, especially at noon. They do it every day. 🇺🇸
