Chilling new video footage was just released over the weekend involving the shooting at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.
The video shows that law enforcement already had the building surrounded where the gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was up on the roof, for several minutes prior to when he opened fire on former President Donald Trump.
Miraculously, Crooks only shot Trump in the ear, but he also shot and killed one rally attendee in the bleachers behind Trump, and critically injured two others.
In the newly-released video footage, filmed by Dave Stewart, 35, of Butler, police officers are seen walking around the AGR International building warehouse.
Stewart and others nearby are told they were trespassing and asked to leave the area near the building. He and others are heard commenting that something is going on in that building, as they speculate why police are walking around it.
Trump is heard speaking from the stage over the loudspeakers. People are seen walking past the building, toward the rally. A woman rides by on a horse, while carrying a large Trump flag. All while police are seen walking around the building.
At the 4:40-minute mark in the video, Steward tells someone, “Make yourself small, bro. I don’t know what’s going on.” Suddenly one shot is faintly heard. Stewart runs to hide behind a tree and continues to film. More shots ring out and screams are heard in the distance.
After a few minutes, Stewart was approached by law enforcement, was temporarily arrested, and his phone was confiscated. Days later he was finally given his phone back, and just released the footage over the weekend.
In a description on the YouTube video, Stewart blasts the officer who arrested him, simply for video-recording the scene. He writes, “Dear PA State Police Trooper who cuffed me and roughed me up: Don’t ever tread on me again. You know what you did. Your partner better have had that bodycam on. That footage better not be deleted. You’re going to pay for what you did to me.”

In a video post on X/Twitter, Stewart shared a video taken by someone else in the crowd and explained, “That’s me in the red shirt running behind the tree. You can see a small clip of the footage from my perspective in my previous posts. I will continue to most more clips so stay tuned.”

It was also reported on Monday that, based on texts exchanged between law enforcement, officers were aware of Crooks’ suspicious activities a full 90 minutes before he opened fire.
