Democrats are gloating over the discovery that former President Donald Trump actually donated money to Kamala Harris years ago, before he ever entered politics.
Trump has acknowledge multiple times that many politicians used to come to him begging for money.
From Newsweek: According to financial records, Trump donated $5,000 to Harris’s campaign on September 26, 2011, and $1,000 on February 20, 2013, when she was running for California attorney general.
Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, gave Harris’s campaign $2,000 in 2014, The Washington Post reported, adding that a spokesperson for Harris said she did not solicit the donation from Trump.
The Sacramento Bee reported in 2020 that Harris donated the money to a non-profit that “advocates for civil and human rights for Central Americans” when Trump began his presidential campaign in 2015.
It was not unusual for Trump to donate to Democrats at the time. In 2001, he gave then-senator Joe Biden’s campaign $1,000. The following year, he gave the New York State Democratic Party $5,000, according to OpenSecrets.
A copy of Trump’s check is now being blasted out on social media by gleeful Democrats.
