Former news anchor and political pundit Lou Dobbs passed away on Thursday.
Dobbs was a conservative and a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump.
CNN wrote: “Dobbs had a lengthy career in broadcast journalism, spending more than two decades at CNN, which he joined at its inception in 1980 and anchoring the program “Moneyline.” Dobbs left CNN in 2009 to help media mogul Rupert Murdoch launch the Fox Business Network.”
A statement posted on Dobb’s X account Thursday afternoon reads: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of the Great Lou Dobbs. Lou was a fighter till the very end – fighting for what mattered to him most: God, his family and the country.
“Lou’s legacy will forever live on as a patriot and a great American. We ask for your prayers for Lou’s wonderful wife Debi, children and grandchildren.”

Former President Donald Trump announced Dobb’s death on his Truth Social account:
“The Great Lou Dobbs has just passed away — A friend, and truly incredible Journalist, Reporter, and Talent. He understood the World, and what was “happening,” better than others. Lou was unique in so many ways, and loved our Country. Our warmest condolences to his wonderful wife, Debi, and family. He will be greatly missed!”
Dobbs appears to have been active on social media up to the end. On Saturday, he commented on the attempted assassination of Trump.
“The hate and division the Marxist Dems have inflicted upon this country is beyond words. Political persecution has only made the man stronger so there was only one option left — and it was one that some of us feared could happen. We are all praying for a speedy recovery for DJT!” Dobbs wrote.

Tributes are pouring in on social media:
Very sad news. Lou Dobbs was an exceptionally kind, generous, gracious, wonderful man in an industry that rewards none of those qualities. Yet he remained as kind as ever to the end. What a patriot. pic.twitter.com/hVGAhUjyfx

FLASHBACK:
This is the segment that got Lou Dobbs fired from Fox News.
He interviewed a USPS whistleblower who drove 200,000+ illegal ballots from New York to Pennsylvania during the 2020 Election.
