Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who briefly served as the White House Press Secretary during the first Trump administration, brought the house down as she spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee Tuesday night.
CNN Democratic strategist Van Jones reportedly called it “the speech of the night.”
Sanders said not even a would-be assassin’s bullet can stop Trump, and said, “God spared President Trump from that assassin because God is not finished with him yet. And He most certainly is not finished with America yet either.”
Early in her speech, she took a swipe at Jill Biden, which brought roaring applause.
“When I was President Trump’s White House Press Secretary, I got the chance to take my 4-year-old son up to ‘Bring-Your-Kid-to-Work Day,’” Sanders said, adding, “Much like Jill now drags Joe to ‘Bring-Your-Husband-to-Work Day’.”
“We are not called to stand still in the face of great danger. You and I were put on this earth at a moment in time to charge boldly ahead. We cannot know what the future holds, but we know damn sure who [God] holds the future in His hands,” she said.
