From Collin Rugg via X/Twitter/New York Post: The suspect who tried to ass*ssinate Donald Trump made a donation to Democrat-aligned ActBlue on Biden’s inauguration day. 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was a registered Republican.

His father, who spoke with CNN, says he is trying to find out “what the h*ll is going on” and is going to “wait until I talk to law enforcement” to say more. A former classmate said: “He didn’t seem like really weird or anything. I would have pegged him as a Republican.” “He was more of a loner. He probably had a friend group, but not many friends,” they added. Crooks was wearing a shirt from Demolition Ranch, a gun YouTube channel.

From The Daily Caller: Donald Trump Jr. described the “scary” moments when he learned of the Saturday evening assassination attempt on his father, former President Donald Trump.

Secret Service agents rushed Trump off the stage when the former president was hit in the right ear during the incident which left former volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore dead and two other attendees at the rally wounded. The president’s son told talk show host Joe Pagliarulo during a Sunday interview during a special broadcast of the “Joe Pags Show” that he had been taking some time off prior to the Republican convention when he learned of the attempt on his father’s life.

5) Secret Service Claims Reports That Resources Were Diverted From Trump Rally To Protect Jill Biden Are ‘Wrong’

From Daily Wire: The U.S. Secret Service disputed reports on Sunday that said the agency diverted resources away from protecting former President Donald Trump at his campaign rally to protect first lady Jill Biden, who was also in Pennsylvania at the time.

Jill Biden, who was in Pittsburgh, was not far away from Trump’s rally in Butler County, where a 20-year-old who donated to far-left causes shot the former president in an assassination attempt.

RealClearPolitics White House & National Political Correspondent Susan Crabtree reported on social media that sources told her resources were diverted away from Trump to protect the first lady.

 

6) Top adviser to anti-Trump LinkedIn billionaire sorry for suggesting assassination bid was ‘false flag’

From Fox Business: A leading Democrat fundraiser and political strategist is apologizing after he emailed journalists Saturday night to suggest the attempted assassination of former President Trump may have been “staged.”

Semafor reported that Dmitri Mehlhorn, the top political adviser to billionaire LinkedIn co-founder and Democrat mega-donor Reid Hoffman, sent an email Saturday night to a group of journalists after the incident and wrote that one “possibility – which feels horrific and alien and absurd in America, but is quite common globally – is that this ‘shooting’ was encouraged and maybe even staged so Trump could get the photos and benefit from the backlash.”

Mehlhorn wrote that false flag attacks were “a classic Russian tactic” used by Vladimir Putin to win power in 1999 and that other examples of the “tactic of committing raw evil and then benefiting from the backlash include Hamas on October 7.”

 

7) Rep. Bennie Thompson Field Director ‘No Longer’ Employed After Cheering Trump Shooting

From Breitbart: A staffer for Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) is “no longer” employed with him after she appeared to express disappointment that former President Donald Trump survived the assassination attempt at his Saturday rally in Pennsylvania.

Jacqueline Marsaw, who listed her job as a field director for Thompson on her Facebook profile, reportedly wrote, “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops [sic] that wasn’t me talking.”
