From Fox News: A staff member of Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson is “no longer” in the congressman’s employment after allegedly posting “don’t miss next time,” after the apparent assassination attempt on former President Trump on Saturday evening.

“I was made aware of a post made by a staff member and she is no longer in my employment,” Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson said in a statement.

The post, which has since been deleted, was allegedly posted by Thompson’s now-former field director Jacqueline Marsaw. The post read, “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking.”

Multiple people captured screenshots of the vile comment.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich reacted in fury, writing, “Congressman Benny Thompson’s staffer Jacqueline Marsaw posted last night “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops [sic] that wasn’t me talking.” She should be fired today. Thompson introduced the resolution to cut off secret service protection for President Trump. With staff like this the poison is deep.”

Former Navy SEAL and former FBI agent Jonathan Gilliam also weighed in, declaring, “She should be kicked out of the country and stripped of her citizenship.”

In April, amid the many legal attacks agains Trump, Thompson himself introduced a bill that would effectively strip Trump of all Secret Service protection should he be sentenced to prison.

After the shooting on Saturday, Thompson wrote on social media, “There is no room in American democracy for political violence. I am grateful for law enforcement’s fast response to this incident. I am glad the former President is safe, and my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.”
