For the second time in less than three months, a United Airlines flight has experienced a part loss during takeoff from a California-based airport. The recent incident involved a Boeing 757-200 carrying 174 passengers and seven crew members. The wheel that detached was recovered without any injuries reported to those on board or on the ground. The flight safely reached Denver International Airport just after 10 a.m., according to airline officials.

United Airlines stated that the incident is under investigation. This follows a similar event in May when a United Airlines flight from San Francisco International Airport lost a tire during takeoff, which damaged several parked vehicles. The tire landed in an SFO employee parking lot, but no injuries were reported.

In light of these occurrences, it’s worth noting that Boeing has faced a series of incidents this year. Since January 2024, there have been 12 reported Boeing aircraft incidents, including the one where an Alaska Airlines flight lost a door plug mid-flight, leading to an emergency landing.

Given these recent events, would you still fly on a Boeing aircraft? Participate in our poll to share your thoughts.
