According to Just the News, a FBI supervisor has come forward to raise concerns about the organization’s practices, accusing it of improperly suspending or revoking security clearances from agents believed to hold conservative political views.

The allegations were disclosed in correspondence obtained by “Just the News,” addressed to the House and Senate Judiciary committees, as well as DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

According to the whistleblower’s lawyer, Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt, the supervisor, whose identity was withheld, detailed instances where FBI leadership allegedly targeted employees supportive of Donald Trump or critical of COVID-19 vaccines.

The supervisor, a registered Democrat, oversaw security clearance reviews for FBI personnel on the East Coast and claimed that others involved in the process shared similar apprehensions.

The letter to Horowitz urged an independent investigation into allegations that FBI leadership applied a political litmus test to determine the approval of top secret clearances. It further alleged that the supervisor and colleagues who raised concerns faced retaliation in the form of transfers or suspensions.
