President Biden and former President Donald Trump will participate in the first presidential debate of the 2024 election on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET in Atlanta. Hosted by CNN and simulcast on CBS and CBS News 24/7 streaming, this will be the first debate appearance for either candidate since 2020. Trump will deliver the final word of the night, while Biden chose his podium position.
According to CNN, moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will ensure a civilized discussion, using tools to enforce timing. There will be no studio audience to maximize the candidates’ speaking time.
