1) President Biden pardons veterans convicted under regulation used to keep LGBTQ members from serving

From ABC News: President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he has pardoned U.S. veterans who were convicted by the military under a regulation that allowed people to be kicked out for being gay. The White House said in a statement announcing the pardons that the decision will impact thousands of veterans, though officials declined to give a specific number.

“Today, I am righting an historic wrong by using my clemency authority to pardon many former service members who were convicted simply for being themselves,” Biden said in the statement, calling it a “full, complete and unconditional pardon.”

“Despite their courage and great sacrifice, thousands of LGBTQI+ service members were forced out of the military because of their sexual orientation or gender identity,” Biden added. “Some of these patriotic Americans were subject to court-martial, and have carried the burden of this great injustice for decades.” … Read More

2) Luna Challenges Garland: Release Biden Tapes or Face Inherent Contempt

From X (Twitter): Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has issued an ultimatum to Attorney General Merrick Garland, demanding the release of tapes related to President Joe Biden within 48 hours. Failure to comply, she warns, will result in Garland being held in inherent contempt. Luna accuses Garland of defying subpoenas and undermining the authority of Congress, asserting that no one, including the Attorney General, is above the law.

 

3) Google at It Again: Platform STILL Burying Trump Campaign Website Ahead of Presidential Debate

From Media Research Center: Google is still at it. Just two days before the widely anticipated presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, the tech giant buried Trump’s campaign website in its search results. But Biden’s appears at the very top for voters looking for information about him.

MRC Free Speech America uncovered proof of Google’s bias and censorship through two separate sets of search queries. First, MRC researchers analyzed the Google Search results for the six presidential candidates still in the race Tuesday. When searching for a candidate’s name and the words “presidential race 2024,” Google completely buried Trump and elevated Biden as the first search result. In fact, the tech giant excluded the only two major pro-life candidates from the top-3 search results, singling out Trump and Constitution Party candidate for president Randall Terry. Every other candidate appeared in the top-three results. But the tech giant’s censorship didn’t end there. Google again buried Trump’s campaign website as the 39th result, while elevating Biden’s to the very top in a separate set of searches for “republican party presidential campaign websites” and “democratic party presidential campaign websites” respectively… Read More

 

4) Health Secretary Rachel Levine Opposed Age Limits for Transgender Treatment

From Breitbart: Transgender advocate and Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine pushed to remove age limits from the draft guidelines for medical treatment of people who say they are transgender. A document called, “Appendix A to Supplemental Expert Report of James Cantonr, PH.D” was released as part of a lawsuit, Boe v. Marshall, according to Jesse Signal, a left-wing critic of transgender ideology. Cantor is described as being a “Canadian sex researcher” and “critic of youth gender medicine, and frequent expert witness on behalf of those attempting to ban” or restrict youth gender health care.

Cantor writes in the document that, Levine “attempted to and did influence the substantive content of” the Standards of Care Rules, version 8 (SOC-8), “based on political goals rather than science.”

5) Dengue fever cases prompt CDC health alert. See how many cases in NY

From Democrat & Chronicle: Over 100 cases of dengue virus infections have been reported in New York state so far this year as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an alert Tuesday over an increased risk of dengue virus infections in the U.S. Dengue fever — a viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes — has been reported in 43 states this year with a total of 2,241 cases nationwide as of Wednesday.

6) Charges announced over alleged $120K bribe attempt during pandemic relief fraud trial

From ABC News: Five people have been charged in connection with an alleged plot to bribe a juror with $120,000 cash during a federal trial over pandemic relief fraud. Federal prosecutors called the incident an “elaborate” and “chilling,” but ultimately foiled, scheme to infiltrate the jury.

The alleged bribery attempt was reported as the six-week trial in Minneapolis was wrapping up against seven people charged in connection with an alleged $250 million fraud scheme through the Minnesota nonprofit Feeding Our Future.

One of the anonymous jurors — identified as Juror 52 — told police an unknown woman left $120,000 cash at her home the night of June 2 in an attempted bribe to acquit the defendants, according to U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger. The woman handed a gift bag to a relative of the juror, who was not home at the time, and promised more money if the juror returned a verdict of not guilty, according to court documents. 7) Highland Park Parade Shooting Suspect Rejects Offered Plea Deal

From OAN: During a hearing on Wednesday, the suspect in the July 4th parade shooting at Chicago’s Highland Park rejected a plea agreement. A plea agreement was made available by the state, which involved admitting guilt to 55 charges—seven of which involved fatalities and 48 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Robert Crimo III, the defendant, would have received a natural life sentence in jail under the terms of the plea.

9) Vermont man arrested for flipping off cops at traffic stop gets sweet revenge as state agrees to pay him $175,000

From Daily Mail: The Vermont State Police will pay $175,000 to a man arrested for ‘flipping the bird’ at an officer after he sued the department for breaching his First Amendment rights.

Police dashcam footage captured the moment Gregory Bombard was pulled over by Trooper Jay Riggen’s on a snowy street in St. Albans on February 9, 2018.

Bombard was jailed for over an hour after he cursed at the cop and eventually sued the department for the unnecessary traffic stop and retaliatory arrest, arguing it was a violation of his First Amendment rights. On Wednesday, the department agreed to pay Bombard $100,000 in damages and another $75,000 for his attorney’s fees… Read More
